ILP--Design Prezi

For my ILP this week, I decided to create the Prezzi presentation for the design category.  My prezzi presentation is it for a lesson on the elements of design for a 10th grade art class.  The content of my presentation is based on the CPalms standard VA.912.S.2 for visual arts: enduring understanding concerning skills and techniques.  This content is a comprehensive presentation of some very basic but important design techniques

Here’s the link to my presentation:

  1. I like the concept of your Prezi. I recommend one concept per frame. For example. Make cross-hatching a single frame, with the image consuming the whole frame and then the label overlaid. Return to the category slide with all details before and after. As much as possible, always make the images full screen. They are more interesting than the words. I like how you embed circle (details) within categorical circles.

    1. Thank you! I understand what you mean about the pictures-- the frames are very small in prezi and it makes it harder to have a slide with words and pictures together--plus the pictures look better in the full screen.

  2. Nice Prezi! Maybe next time you could add a photograph of the prezi on your blog? Also, it would be cool if it said something like "Click HERE" instead of just the long URL

    1. You are totally right! I actually saw one that had the prezi embedded into the blog--I think I will try that next time if i do another Prezi ILP.

  3. I like your Prezi because it looks like you put a copious amount of time and effort into it

    1. Thanks! I put a fair amount of time into it--but it was actually really fun. I love projects.

  4. I think you did a good job of clearly explaining the basic elements of design, which are really important in evaluating and understanding art. Do you think you would use this tool in your classroom for presentations? The only recommendation I would make would be to spread out the frames a little more because it looked a little crowded at times.

    1. Thanks! I Think if I teach art this will be a great in-depth presentation for students new to upper-level art classes or those who haven't taken any art history where they would have worked on this. I also see what you mean about the frames-- I don't use prezi very often and am still figuring out how to make them flow properly.

  5. I chose to do a Prezi for my ILP #1 and I really enjoyed your concept. I really like all of the pictures you put on your Prezi and the transitions you used that focused on slides with pictures as examples. My question to you would be, what are some difficulties you experienced using Prezi? And do you prefer PowerPoint or Prezi? Another website you can look at cool and informational slides is SlideShare.net

    1. Thanks! I have had a hard time with Prezi when it comes to getting all of the information I want into one frame. Maybe this is my hint to cut back on the words in my slideshows--but I like to have words and related pictures in the same slide to show how they are linked but I have a hard time with this in prezi.
